Quirky and cool.

This manual is not endorsed by the LDS Church, but it does contain information gathered from other publications and sources. Mormons are often seen on TV shows which include Bear Grylls’ Man vs. Wild or Les Stroud’s Survivorman to name a few examples of survival-focused programs with participants who know how to survive in different environments using skills they’ve learned through their own experience as well as research that can be found online for free!

I have some great friends who are Mormons and their preparedness always amazed me, so I had to learn more about it. After doing a little research online, I found out that they have been preparing for disasters since the 1800s by storing food in underground storage containers. They were able to survive long after other people ran out of supplies during World War II and there was even one Mormon family that survived 91 days without any outside help!

I thought this would be important information for everyone because not only is emergency preparation very admirable but these methods can also save lives when disaster strikes — just like what happened with Hurricane Harvey last year..
It was refreshing to see some advice from the “other side” of things. I would never keep this in my Bug Out Bag (way too big). However, they do offer a lot more than just emergency preparedness tips and tricks for staying alive when disaster strikes; it is full of information on how to stay happy while you are living an active lifestyle.
This article teaches you how to survive in the event of a disaster. The author’s goal is for people to be prepared enough that they can “bug out” if necessary, but it also emphasizes why remaining at home may be best when possible as well.

The rest of this manual provides an excellent overview on food storage, emergency cooking, basic food lists (including non perishables), money/
I love the many checklists through out the manual, for example you could just take pages 124 to 127 with you to the grocery store and use it as a guide/checklist for all of your food needs. Cons: There are about 10-12 pages of religious text in this manual; I did not care at all because everything was free. Download it, print it, read it–just make sure that if anything’s important or relevant (like MREs), then remember those too when purchasing them!
The LDS Preparedness Manual is now available for free download! Pass it on to your friends and family so they can get a copy too. This manual contains vital information from the Church of Jesus Christ about how you should prepare yourself during disasters, including earthquakes, tsunamis, hurricanes/cyclones/typhoons (or whatever natural disaster may come).
