A few weeks ago, a friend and I went on a midnight food run to the 24-hour cafe as guys who have had more than just one beer like to do. On our way there, my attention was drawn by how cold it looked outside. We passed this church where homeless people sleep on the steps and I got curious about what they were wearing at night because that is when most of them seem out in public during these freezing temperatures (it has been in single digits). In survival situations like thosedescribed above with no shelter or clothing options readily available for protection from weather conditions such as those we are currently experiencing here in Minnesota, humans could suffer frostbite or hypothermia very quickly without some sort of appropriate attire covering their body parts
